meet your educator
I’m Ash Wuillemin. A hairdresser, educator, and lifelong hair nerd who genuinely believes hairdressing is one of the best careers you can choose. I’ve spent my career deeply involved in the industry, working hands-on in salons, educating emerging stylists, and contributing to the future of hair through ongoing involvement with the Australian hair and beauty sector. I currently work with Kevin Murphy colour and hair products, and I’m passionate about education that keeps our industry relevant, skilled, and sustainable.
My experience spans running my own successful salon in Melbourne, working in and learning from some of the best salons in Australia, and shadowing celebrity hairdressers in the US. I’ve educated for professional brands, presented on major industry stages, and spent years on the salon floor seeing exactly where training works — and where it falls short. That perspective shapes everything I teach: real skill, applied properly, in real salon conditions.
Outside the salon, I’m originally from Perth and have called Melbourne home for the past 10 years. I love horse riding and volunteer with Riding for the Disabled Victoria, spend as much time as possible camping or by the beach, and value balance just as much as ambition. At the core of everything I do is a genuine love for this industry and a strong belief that when hairdressers are trained well, supported properly, and proud of their skill, everyone wins , salons, clients, and the next generation of stylists.

Because “qualified” and highly “skilled” are never the same thing.
I’m Ash Wuillemin, and I help salon owners bridge the gap between trade school and genuinely salon-ready hairdressers.
Client expectations are higher than ever, yet the industry approach to training hasn’t evolved at the same pace - leaving salon owners to carry the pressure of developing real skill.
That’s where my work begins.

What our clients have to say:
“Before Ash came on board, our biggest challenge was having a really solid, structured training program that was followed consistently and kept to a high standard. We always intended to offer that level of training, but in the reality of a busy salon, it was hard to maintain the same depth and progression week to week. We needed someone who could not only map out clear training pathways, but actually hold the structure and make sure the apprentices were growing confidently at every stage. With Ash focused entirely on training, the level of skill, support and follow-through has lifted in such a huge way.
Ash brings this really calm, grounded energy that the girls respond to straight away. She meets them where they’re at, creates training plans with the salon’s expectations in mind, and encourages them in such a genuine way. Learning with her stays fun, while still having really clear structure and standards. It’s this beautiful balance of fun but firm.
The difference has been so noticeable, their skills have jumped, their confidence has grown, and they’re excited about their own progress. They feel supported and encouraged, but also challenged in the best way. The energy around training days feels positive and purposeful.
From an owner’s perspective, having Ash oversee training as a whole has made me feel so much more supported. I trust the process, I trust her eye, and I trust the care she has for the apprentices and the salon as a whole.
I would 100% recommend Ash’s education to other salons - not just because her training is technically strong, but because she nurtures hairdressers into feeling confident, capable, and proud of themselves, while also just being a bloody cool person to work with!”
